These standards are aimed at establishing a clear benchmark for teacher competence and professionalism.
Tailored to the unique requirements of the Maldivian education system, the MNPST sets out to empower teachers in their professional growth, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the quality of education and bolstering the reputation of the teaching profession.
Comprising key elements of effective teaching, the standards outline the expected knowledge, skills, and attributes across four distinct career stages within the teaching profession.
The MNPST is poised to redefine the notion of teacher quality in the Maldives by explicitly fostering the knowledge, skills, and attributes necessary to attain high levels of professional competence.
By providing a framework that outlines the expectations of teachers at various stages of their careers, the MNPST encourages a culture of reflective practice.
