The government has opened opportunities for locals to own land and for foreigners to lease land for a duration of 99 years in Thilafushi Phase 2.
Thilafushi Phase 2, situated in Zone A Area B of the island, is being made available for industrial purposes, with revisions made to plot areas.
The bidding process is now accessible through HDC’s website/portal, with a total of 108 plots available for purchase.
These plots comprise 64 areas spanning between 2,500 to 4,999 square feet, 42 plots ranging from 5,000 to 9,999 square feet, and the sale of two larger plots ranging between 10,000 to 14,999 square feet.
The land reclamation for Thilafushi Phase 2 commenced in September of the preceding year, with HDC confirming on February 12th the successful reclamation of 120 hectares of land under the project.
The reclamation and shore protection activities were undertaken in collaboration with China Harbor Engineering Company Limited.
Looking ahead, HDC plans to relocate the international port to Thilafushi, subsequently transferring logistical operations such as cargo clearance and warehousing to the industrial island.
Furthermore, the corporation foresees streamlined logistical operations following the completion of the Thilamale’ Bridge, connecting Male’ City with the island.
