The President’s Office has invited the public to submit video questions for the “Raeesge Javaab” series, a social media initiative where the President regularly responds to public inquiries.

“Raeesge Javaab”, meaning “The President’s Answers,” will start answering citizen’s submissions from this weekend onwards. Citizens can upload their recorded questions via the Citizen’s Voice portal at https://citizensvoice.gov.mv or directly through the President’s Office website.

Launched in February 2024, the series initially featured the President addressing public questions via video. At the time, a media team from the Office facilitated submissions by directly engaging with citizens. However, this approach primarily reached residents of the Greater Malé region, limiting access for those in other parts of the country. To ensure fair representation, officials temporarily suspended the series until they could implement a more inclusive solution.

After extensive efforts to improve accessibility, the series has now been re-launched. The updated portal allows all citizens to submit video questions to the President at any time, creating a more inclusive platform for public engagement.

It’s worth noting that even though Muizzu has committed to answering inquiries made by the public, he is under public scrutiny as he has not done a single press conference with the media since taking office in November 2023.
