Gov’t Invites Participation in ‘Kandu Roadhi Ufaa Festival’ for World Oceans Day
The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources has opened the opportunity to participate in the “Kandu Roadhi Ufaa Festival” in celebration of World Oceans Day.

Working closely with island councils and relevant authorities, the ministry has organised a series of beach-focused activities spanning various locations across the Maldives, aimed at injecting enthusiasm into the World Oceans Day commemorations. A key event, titled “Enmmen Moodhah,” will mark the beginning of the festivities on June 8.
Additionally, the ministry will hold drawing and essay competitions open to all schools, highlighting the significance of World Oceans Day. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of these competitions.
To raise public awareness, informative content will be shared on social media platforms from June 1 to 8. Quiz competitions will also be conducted through these channels.
Furthermore, a dedicated information session featuring industry experts is scheduled, where participating students will pledge their commitment to reducing beach litter.
The ministry has also arranged diving activities tailored for children in the Male’ area. Moreover, a special evening event called the “Kandu Roadhi Ufaa Festival” aims to educate the younger generation about the importance of World Oceans Day.
