The government has launched the 21st Century Skills Development Strategies, aimed at ensuring students acquire essential, workplace-relevant skills through the education system.

The initiative was inaugurated by the Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, Ali Haidar, who underscored the importance of shifting education towards the practical application of skills to address real-world challenges. He highlighted the need for collective effort among stakeholders to successfully achieve the objectives of the strategies.
The minister noted that similar skills development initiatives are being implemented internationally. Under the new framework, key skills required in the workplace will be identified and integrated into the national curriculum, while dedicated programmes will be conducted to equip students with competencies needed for modern work environments.
