The government has announced a one-month complaint submission period for the newly published list of eligible applicants under the Gedhoruveriyaa Scheme.

The social housing project, comprising 4,000 flats, was initiated during the administration of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. A list of eligible applicants was published shortly before the end of that administration. However, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) identified discrepancies in some applications, prompting a review by the current government. A revised and verified list was released last Wednesday.

The Ministry of Housing has stated that complaints regarding the list will be accepted until 31 March 2025. Applicants wishing to contest their eligibility status can submit complaints through the Gedhoruveriyaa Portal. Complaints regarding other individuals on the list can be submitted via email or in writing to the ministry. Further details on the complaint process can be obtained by calling 4004911 or 4004910.

According to the final list, 1,820 applicants have been declared eligible. Among them, 1,423 will receive three-room apartments, while 397 will be allocated two-room apartments. The review process also determined that 2,695 applicants were ineligible, including 424 individuals who were removed from the original list due to changes in their points allocation.
