Gov’t Publishes Guideline on Rainwater Harvesting

The Utility Regulatory Authority (URA) has published a detailed guideline on rainwater harvesting.

Published in the gazette, the 17-page guideline comes under the authority’s jurisdiction as stipulated in the Utility Regulatory Act, which has been in effect for the past four years.

Covering various aspects of rainwater harvesting, the guideline covers various aspects of rainwater harvesting, including the design of roof catchments, storage tanks, downpipes, and filters.

Additionally, it provides a comprehensive checklist outlining the essential components necessary for an effective rainwater harvesting system. Among the key requirements highlighted in the guideline is the inclusion of a catchment area, conveyance system, and storage tanks in every typical setup.
