President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reassured that the development of an airport on Dhiguvelidhoo Island will proceed as pledged.
Muizzu made these remarks while speaking with the residents of Komandoo Island.
Muizzu emphasized that Komandoo Island had not received the notable progress aspired by the people despite the execution of developmental projects for several years. Noting that the housing issue should be comprehensively resolved despite the island’s land being fully occupied. Muizzu also committed to delivering permanent solutions to resolve the issues, including those related to the harbor, water and sanitation, and other development challenges the island community faces.
Muizzu revealed that the Administration plans to implement the project to connect to Mathikomandoo, assuring that it would be executed to incorporate any modifications proposed by the people, following community consultations.
Muizzu emphasised that the Administration is committed to carrying out projects efficiently and achieving tangible results rather than merely envisioning their completion at some distant point in the future.
