Gov’t Renames National Job Centre to National Careers Service

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, has renamed the “National Job Centre” under the purview of the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, to “National Careers Service.” 

This was done under the discretion vested in him by Article 116 of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives. This announcement was made in a directive issued by the President’s Office yesterday.

This change was implemented on July 23, 2024.

According to the directive, all correspondence addressed to the National Careers Service shall use the number 490, per the numbering system for state agencies.
