Gov’t Renews Bid for Construction of Waqf Building in Hulhumale’

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has renewed its search for contractors to build the Waqf building, Darul Salam, in Hulhumale’. 

This follows a previous call for bids, which did not attract adequate interest. The planned 12-storey office building will be situated in Hulhumale’ Phase I, and the Ministry has opened applications to both Maldivian and international companies. Interested parties are required to submit their applications online by 2:00 PM on 24th October, with proposals due by 11:00 AM on 30th October.

At present, the Maldives has only one operational Waqf building, Darul Iman, in Male’, generating an annual income of USD 390,641. Additionally, the government has outlined plans to establish another Waqf building in Addu City.
