Gov’t to Increase Issuance of Online Tokens for Tuna Case Distribution

The government has announced a decision to increase the issuing of online tokens after switching the distribution of tuna cases for Ramadan in the Greater Male’ area to nighttime.
In a statement last morning, the ministry confirmed that the distribution of tuna cases will take place during the night, from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am, in response to the hot weather conditions.
People must present their national identity card and one month’s electricity bill to collect the tuna cases. The distribution will be limited to three cases per person, based on the number of electricity meters.
Tuna cases will be available at 13 locations, with the number of tokens varying by site. These locations include:
- MIFCO complex in Maafannu: 200 tokens
- MTCC Sawmill: 200 tokens
- Henveiru Football Stadium: 100 tokens
- Galolhu Football Stadium, Setup 1: 50 tokens
- Galolhu Football Stadium, Setup 2: 50 tokens
- Galolhu Football Stadium, Setup 3: 50 tokens
- Galolhu Football Stadium, Setup 4: 50 tokens
- Social Center: 100 tokens
- Vilimale’ WAMCO site: 100 tokens
- Umar Zahir Building, Hulhumale’ Phase I: 100 tokens
- POLCO Tower, Hulhumale’ Phase I: 100 tokens
- H10, Hulhumale’ Phase II: 100 tokens
- Kaamil Didi School, Hulhumale’ Phase II: 100 tokens
Local Government Minister Adam Shareef Umar stated on Friday that over 9,390 tuna cases have already been distributed in the Male’ area. The distribution will continue until all households are ensured to have received their tuna cases.
