The Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has announced the postponement of the registration handover to land recipients under the ‘Binveriya’ scheme to next Saturday.
According to State Minister Akram Kamaluddeen, the delay is attributed to pending administrative matters that require completion before the land registry can be transferred.
A total of 19,639 individuals have qualified for land allocation through the government’s Binveriya scheme, which encompasses an area spanning more than 9,000 acres. The allocation locations were determined through a week-long drawing process.
The Planning Ministry is concurrently engaged in the process of delineating lands for those who have been granted property in Hulhumale’. As the dredging operations near conclusion, efforts are being made to expedite the allocation of lands in the Gulhifalhu and Giravaru lagoon.
With a substantial portion of the dredging project already accomplished, the Planning Ministry has stated that the land handover process is anticipated to conclude within the forthcoming two months.
