In the Maldives, Quality Improvement Departments have already been set up in tertiary healthcare facilities, encouraging collaboration between patients and healthcare providers. The Ministry plans to work closely with these departments as part of the new national committee.

To support this effort, personnel are being trained to engage more effectively with patients, aiming to create a healthcare system where mistakes are acknowledged and addressed transparently. This approach reflects global best practices focused on strengthening healthcare systems and ensuring patient safety.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to improving the overall quality of healthcare services, acknowledging that several areas require significant enhancement to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care.
