Hen’badhoo Council Urges Land Reclamation as President Begins Noonu Atoll Visit

Hen’badhoo Island Council members have raised the issue of land reclamation for housing development during a meeting with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, who is currently on a four-day tour of Noonu Atoll. The President met with the council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions at the Hen’badhoo Island Council premises to discuss community development priorities.

During the discussions, council members highlighted the need for land reclamation to facilitate housing initiatives. Other key issues brought forward included securing resources for improved electricity supply, addressing limited space and staffing challenges at the Health Centre, necessary renovation work at the school, and the expansion and development of the football ground.
President Muizzu reportedly assured the attendees that the issues raised would be addressed. Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from relevant government institutions were present at the meeting and provided updates on ongoing development initiatives within the island.
