Higher Education Ministry Opens Applications for ICCR Scholarships in India
Higher education ministry invites applications for iccr scholarships
The Higher Education Ministry has opened applications for scholarships in India under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scheme for 2026–2027.
The scholarships are available across six fields, including culture, and the ICCR has offered 10 slots for Maldivian students this year. Final selection will be made by the Council for Cultural Relations of India.
Applications must be submitted by 15 April.
The scholarships cover Bachelor’s-level studies in engineering and technology, science and agriculture, history and culture, business, herbal medicine including Ayurveda, and traditional Indian dance and music.
A total of 134 universities in India are eligible under the scheme.
The ministry has advised selected students to ensure that both the institution and the chosen programme are accredited by the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) before departure. Students pursuing fields requiring professional licensing in the Maldives must also confirm that their course is offered at a centre recognised by the relevant Maldivian authorities.
