The Ministry of Housing has begun the process of reviewing complaints submitted in response to the list of flat recipients under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme.

A total of 8,602 complaints were lodged with the ministry following the publication of the recipient list. Of these, 5,236 complaints were submitted through the Gedhoruveriya Portal by 4,652 individuals. Since multiple complaints could be submitted by a single person, the total number of entries exceeds the number of individual complainants.

Among those who used the portal to file complaints, 2,555 are individuals who were listed as eligible to receive flats.

In addition to the complaints submitted online, 2,840 complaints were sent via email, while 526 were submitted in the form of letters.

The ministry has stated that it will also review complaints submitted by third parties via email, specifically those concerning individuals included in the list of recipients.
