Hulhumale’ Hospital Opens Medical Internship Opportunities for the First Time

Hulhumale’ Hospital has announced opportunities for medical graduates in the Maldives to complete their internship at the hospital for the first time. 

Previously, internship placements were only available at Dharumavantha Hospital.

Medical graduates are required to undertake a one-year internship before entering permanent service. To address concerns over the limited number of internship opportunities, the government expanded placements to include Addu Equatorial Hospital in Addu City and Hulhumale’ Hospital in Hulhumale’.

Applications are now open for 15 internship positions at Hulhumale’ Hospital. Graduates may apply between 29 June and 12:00 noon on 8 July. Details of the eligibility requirements and documents to be submitted have been published in the government gazette.

If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available positions, priority will be given based on the date of MBBS completion and the order in which applications are received. The internship programme at Addu Equatorial Hospital is already underway.
