The Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has established a dedicated flu clinic to provide medical services for pilgrims returning from the Hajj pilgrimage.
The initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to minimise the spread of infectious diseases, such as seasonal influenza, which tends to increase following the return of large groups from overseas religious gatherings.
The clinic, located in Outpatient Department (OPD) Room No. 10 near the former General Outpatient Department (GOPD) area, will operate daily from 10:00am to 10:00pm. Services available at the clinic include doctor consultations and blood sample collection.
Pilgrims seeking treatment at the flu clinic are required to obtain a token number via the hospital’s Queuebee token system and report to the Emergency Room triage before proceeding to the clinic. IGMH has also urged all individuals visiting the hospital for consultations to wear face masks as a precautionary measure.
In a related advisory, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has recommended against bringing children to the airport when receiving returning pilgrims, citing concerns over potential exposure to illness.
