According to the announcement, passport applications can be submitted at any time via the ‘Imuga’ portal, which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, the issuing of queue numbers at passport offices in the Malé area will only take place between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm during this period, and will be closed on Eid al-Adha day, 6 June. For medical emergencies, assistance is available by contacting 9555333.
Visa services will be restricted during the holiday period. From 5 to 9 June, services will be provided only to foreigners needing to leave the country in emergency situations. Travellers to the Maldives may still apply for a ‘sponsorship declaration’ through the Imuga portal. Emergency contacts are 9199153 for work visa matters and 9199157 for permit-related queries.
The Enforcement and Compliance Division will offer services from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm throughout the holidays, excluding Hajj day and Eid al-Adha. Urgent matters can be reported to 7980408 or 9199320.
Malé’s Seaport Division will continue operations from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, Saturday to Wednesday, and from 2:30 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday. The emergency contact number is 9199187.
Maldives Immigration has advised the public to plan ahead and ensure passports have a minimum of six months’ validity to avoid travel disruptions.
