The Immigration Department has introduced simplified procedures for passport applications, particularly targeting those facing medical emergencies and individuals aged 65 and above, aimed at enhancing services for the citizens of Maldives.
Effective from January 21, individuals requiring a passport due to a medical emergency or those in the elderly age group can now personally visit the Immigration Department to initiate their passport application process.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s vision prioritises facilitating seamless services for the people of Maldives, and this adjustment in passport application procedures aligns with that vision.
For those applying for a passport during a medical emergency, the Immigration Department is ready to assist throughout the application process, including providing passport photography services. The service is available from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, specifically catering to individuals aged 65 and above.
The Immigration Department has expressed its commitment to continually enhance these services, with a focus on ensuring expeditious and convenient passport application processes for the citizens of Maldives.
