Maldives Immigration has announced that their offices in the Male’ area will provide normal services during revised service hours for passport-related services on 5 February, which has been declared a government holiday.

In a statement, Immigration said in-person services for special cases and individuals aged 65 and above will be available from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. Under normal circumstances, these services are provided until 5:00 pm.

The issuance of token numbers to collect passports will also be limited to between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm. Immigration said tokens will continue to be issued through the QueueBee system or directly from Immigration offices, in line with existing procedures.

Immigration said members of the public can continue to apply for passports online through the Imuga portal, as usual.

For emergency situations, Immigration advised the public to contact its emergency assistance line at 9555333.

The President declared 5 February a government holiday last month, in line with tradition, as it marks the day the Presidential Address is delivered to the People’s Majlis under Article 84 of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives.
