Abdul Raheem’s visit began on Monday and is set to continue until Friday. The meeting with Birla focused on various aspects of parliamentary collaboration.

Birla later shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the Maldivian speaker had expressed admiration for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) within the Indian legislative framework. He added that Abdul Raheem had requested assistance in digitising the resources of the Maldives legislature. Birla confirmed India’s full support in this regard.

In addition to digitisation, Birla also pledged support for the Maldives Parliament through Lok Sabha Pride, India’s premier legislative training facility. This initiative will provide training for members and staff of the Maldives Parliament, aiming to improve parliamentary procedures and governance through knowledge-sharing and skill development.

Abdul Raheem’s visit to India is taking place at the invitation of both the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
