The Indian High Commission in the Maldives organised a blood donation camp to commemorate World Blood Donor Day, encouraging voluntary donation and strengthening people-to-people ties between the Indian and Maldivian communities.
The arrangements at Tree Top Hospital were excellent. Members of the High Commission and the Indian community donated blood. This is the 2nd time this year that @IndiaInMaldives has participated in blood donation to support our Maldivian friends at times of need. pic.twitter.com/7nGsBtSsRD

The event was inaugurated by the Minister of Health, Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, and attended by Indian High Commissioner G. Balasubramanian, along with staff from the High Commission and members of the Indian community. This is the second blood donation initiative organised by the High Commission in 2025 to support local health services.
The High Commissioner and other officials took part in the donation process, reflecting a broader campaign by Indian missions worldwide to promote voluntary blood donation. This year’s theme for World Blood Donor Day, “Give blood, give hope: together we save lives,” underscores the importance of safe, accessible blood supplies and the role of regular donors.
The High Commission noted the positive turnout and reiterated its commitment to initiatives that contribute to the well-being of Maldivians, particularly in times of need.
