International Driving License Application Open Now

The Ministry of Transport has officially announced the opportunity for individuals seeking to obtain an international driving license. 

This initiative aligns with the ministry’s ongoing efforts to bring domestic road vehicle driving licenses in line with international standards.

In an announcement, the ministry extended an invitation to participate in the training program required to secure an international driving license. Aspiring applicants are encouraged to submit their requests through the ministry’s user-friendly SIMS portal.

However, it’s important to note that eligibility for the training program is restricted to individuals possessing a “permanent license” issued by the ministry for the A-Zone. 

Subsequently, international driving licenses will be granted to candidates who successfully complete the training programme and meet the predetermined requirements.

The government has expressed its dedication to ensuring that licenses issued by the Ministry of Transport conform to international norms. 

Additionally, discussions have taken place with select nations to facilitate the recognition of Maldives licenses on a global scale.
