Islamic Ministry Invites Proposals for Umrah Transporters

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has formally opened its call for proposals from entities keen to transport individuals to Umrah. Those meeting the eligibility criteria have until 24 October 2023 to submit their applications using the specified format.

The Maldives Rules for The Movement of People to Umrah states that an announcement should be made twice a year to transport people to Umrah. This is the second such announcement in the country this year.

Section 9 of the related policy further elucidates that firms which align with the set criteria for transporting individuals to Umrah in the Maldives are welcome to seek permission. Additionally, businesses with permits set to expire in November, as well as those with already expired permits, are eligible to apply. Successful applicants will be granted a two-year permission.

Interested parties can download the proposal book from the ministry’s official website. Submissions will be accepted at the ministry’s counter from 8 October 2023 to the deadline on 24 October 2023.
