The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has requested authorities to investigate and take legal action over a video circulating on social media in which a man makes what officials describe as blasphemous claims.

Islamic Minister Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed said the Ministry formally wrote to the relevant authorities on 15 February, asking them to probe the matter and initiate legal proceedings.

The alleged video posted on TikTok shows an individual claiming to receive divine revelations and asserting that he is the Prophet Yusuf. The footage also allegedly includes statements that insult the Islamic faith and the Holy Prophet.

The Ministry said such claims constitute serious offences and emphasised the need for swift investigation under applicable laws.
