The Ministry noted that several local councils had requested Mus’hafs, and distribution to the islands will now be carried out through the Ummeedhu Association.
Earlier in April, Saudi Arabia donated 25,000 copies of the Qur’an to the Maldives. The Ministry confirmed that these copies will be sent to island councils for onward distribution to mosques in their respective communities.
Nationwide initiatives are currently underway to encourage memorisation of the Qur’an and to support the correct reading and recitation of the holy text. The Ministry highlighted that Saudi Arabia’s assistance continues to play an important role in strengthening Qur’an education across the country.
