Over the past year, the centre has conducted more than 300 programmes, with over 7,000 participants benefiting from various initiatives. These have included light exercise sessions, healthy eating guidance, health screenings, and dementia awareness programmes for the elderly. Additionally, religious awareness sessions, digital literacy workshops, and discussions on safeguarding against cyber scams have been held.

To further support social engagement, the centre has also organised home gardening activities, poetry classes, celebrations of key dates, and outdoor excursions aimed at enriching the lives of senior citizens.

A key highlight of the anniversary celebration was the introduction of the ‘Israhvehinge Naadhee Membership Card’, designed for individuals over the age of 55 who are registered with the centre. The card will facilitate access to Israhvehinge Naadhee activities and provide benefits, including doctor visits, appointment arrangements, and discounts at partner stores and clinics. The initiative was developed with assistance from the Pension Office.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Social and Family Development Dr Aishath Shiham expressed gratitude to those who contributed to the centre’s activities over the past year. She also highlighted plans to expand the services provided by the Israhvehinge Naadhee Social Centre in the future.
