Items Resembling the Ballot Paper is Strictly Prohibited, Warns ECM

The Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has recently issued a reminder concerning the regulations surrounding the manufacturing and distribution of ballot papers for elections.
އިންތިޚާބުތަކާބެހޭ ޢާންމު ޤާނޫނުގެ 74ވަނަ މާއްދާގެ (ހ) ގެ 9 ދަށުން، އިލެކްޝަންސް ކޮމިޝަންގެ ހުއްދަނެތި ވޯޓުކަރުދާސް އުފެއްދުން ނުވަތަ ވޯޓުކަރުދާހުގެ ގޮތުގައި އިންތިޚާބުގައި ބޭނުންކުރެވިދާނެ އެއާ އެއްފަދަ އެއްޗެއް އުފެެއްދުމަކީ މަނާކަމެއް .

In accordance with the General Elections Act, the ECM emphasises that the production of ballot papers or any items resembling them, intended for use as official ballots in elections, is strictly prohibited unless authorized by the ECM.
The announcement serves as a precautionary measure ahead of upcoming elections and seeks to ensure the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.
The presidential election is scheduled for the 9th of next month.
