Joali Maldives Crowned Champions of Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025

Joali Maldives has been crowned the champion of the Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025 after defeating The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli in a thrilling Grand Final held at Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa on Saturday evening.
This marks Joali’s second consecutive championship title, following their victory in 2024.
According to Tekkers, this year’s tournament was the biggest yet, featuring 50 resort teams from across the Maldives competing zone-by-zone for a place in the national stages. After weeks of intense futsal battles and standout performances, Joali Maldives emerged victorious once again, securing their place in Tekkers history.
Joali Maldives dominated from the outset with sharp precision and teamwork, Tekkers said. They scored twice in the first half, heading into the break with a confident 2–0 lead. Returning with renewed energy, Joali Maldives extended their advantage to 4–0 before St. Regis Vommuli staged a late comeback, scoring two goals in the final minutes. However, the defending champions held firm, sealing a 4–2 victory to retain the coveted title.
Following the match, an award ceremony celebrated individual excellence and team achievements. Joali Maldives’s goalkeeper, Ibrahim Nadheem Adam (#25), claimed multiple honours, including Best Goalkeeper, Final Man of the Match (Gold), and Best Player of the Tournament. Abdulla Haneef (Benjo) of Joali Maldives won Best Coach, while Ahmed Imthinah (#7) from Velaa Private Island received Best Playmaker. The Top Scorer award went to Imran from Velaa Private Island, with 14 goals.
The Fair Play Team award was presented to Joy Island by The Cocoon Collection, and The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli was recognised as the tournament’s Runner-Up Team.Now in its fourth year, the Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup continues to be a premier sporting event in the Maldives, celebrating sportsmanship, teamwork, and the vibrant futsal culture within resort communities.
