JSC Opens Applications for Two High Court Judge Vacancies Following Retirements

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has opened applications for two vacant High Court judge positions.
The vacancies follow the retirement of the court’s longest-serving judge, Mohamed Niyaz, and the resignation of Judge Mohamed Faisal.
Applicants are required to hold a first degree in Islamic Sharia, law, or a combination of law and Islamic Sharia, and must have a minimum of five years of relevant experience. The remuneration package includes a basic salary of MVR 45,700, a living allowance of MVR 18,000, and a risk allowance of MVR 3,300.
The JSC has set the deadline for applications as 21 December and has outlined additional eligibility criteria for prospective candidates.
