Kendhoo Police Post Officially Inaugurated

A new police post has been officially opened in Baa Kendhoo, and Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau and Council President Ibrahim Abdul Rahman attended the ceremony. The event occurred in Kendhoo today, where local leaders voiced their support for the facility’s establishment.

Commissioner Shujau highlighted the police post’s role in enhancing community safety and security. He described Kendhoo as a socially cohesive community and expressed confidence that cooperation between the police and residents could contribute to a reduction in crime across the nation.

He stressed that establishing a police service on every island is vital for maintaining internal security, preventing criminal activities, and effectively enforcing the law. “The police station opened today is a door to ensure all this,” he said, reaffirming the police service’s commitment to community engagement in crime prevention.

The Commissioner also underscored the importance of providing police officers with the necessary resources, tools, and training to fulfil their duties under the Constitution and existing laws. He urged the President to allocate adequate resources to support these initiatives.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikri, Assistant Commissioner of Police Moosa Ali from the Service Development Directorate, and various police officers, along with local officials, including Atoll Council President Ahmed Afrah.

Following the ceremony, the national flag and the police flag were hoisted at the new police post, officially marking the commencement of its operations.
