Land reclamation works in Dhidhoo of Haa Alif Atoll are progressing as scheduled, with 41 hectares reclaimed so far, marking 36.61 per cent completion of the overall project, according to the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), whom are overseeing the project.

The project is being undertaken using LEIV EIRIKSSON, a trailing suction hopper dredger with a capacity of 46,000 cubic metres, according to MACL.

The reclamation is expected to support key development initiatives in Dhidhoo, including airport development, housing projects, and essential community infrastructure.
