Land Registry Handover Resumes Under Housing Scheme

The Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development has reinitiated the process of signing land agreements and land registries as part of the previous administration’s Binverya Scheme. 

This move follows a temporary suspension of the land allocation process due to issues encountered in the distribution of land and flats.

The second phase of the housing scheme, implemented by the previous administration, has witnessed a surge in applications, with over 40,000 applicants participating.

Eligibility criteria for land plot applications included residency in Male’ or a minimum 20-year tenure in the capital, while those seeking flats were required to have lived in Male’ for at least 15 years.

In the initial round of the Binveriya scheme, approximately 20,000 applications were submitted, out of which 18,955 were deemed eligible. Successful applicants received land plot registries in Hulhumale’, Gulhi Falhu, and Giraavaru Falhu.
