In a significant development, the location-allocation draw for land in K. Maafushi is scheduled to take place this Thursday.
The official list of applicants vying for a share of the 308 land plots in Maafushi was officially published in the Gazette on the 7th of this month.
The next phase in this allocation process is determining the specific recipients of these plots. The draw is set to unfold this Thursday, with proceedings commencing at 4:00 pm within the premises of Maafushi School.
Local authorities have called upon individuals who feature on the permanent list of land applicants to either attend the draw in person or nominate a representative. For those opting to delegate their presence, prior notification to the council is essential. The notification should include contact details and must reach the council at least one day prior to the draw.
In instances where applicants are unable to participate in person or designate a representative, a member of the draw committee will act on their behalf.
It is noteworthy that the 308 plots earmarked for allocation in Maafushi collectively span an impressive 2000 acres. This significant land allocation process was set in motion following the dredging of 25 hectares of land from the Maafushi lagoon, underscoring the region’s evolving landscape.
