Malaysia Airlines had previously ceased its services to the Maldives in 2017. The resumption of flights is expected to facilitate travel for Maldivians who often visit Malaysia.

In addition, China’s Xiamen Airlines will commence its scheduled flights to the Maldives on Wednesday, with plans to operate three flights per week.
