As part of the agreement, Maldivian students will receive a substantial 70% discount on their course fees.
The scholarships will be distributed across the following fields:
- 75 for Arts and Humanities
- 150 for Engineering and Technology
- 63 for Life Sciences and Medicine

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Mariya emphasised the significance of these opportunities for Maldivian students, noting that they offer the chance to study at globally recognised institutions. She highlighted the role this initiative plays in developing the nation’s human resources, particularly in fields critical to the Maldives’ growth. Dr. Mariya also reiterated the government’s commitment to cultivating a generation capable of contributing to the country’s progress.
