Minister Saeed, accompanied by a Maldivian delegation, is currently participating in a scientific programme co-hosted by the Islamic ministries of both nations. This initiative follows discussions held during his official visits to Saudi Arabia, where the delegation was briefed on various projects and activities spearheaded by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs.

The discussions identified areas where the Maldives requires support and collaboration, particularly in the training of Khateebs (preachers), scholars, and other individuals responsible for imparting religious knowledge. Minister Saeed highlighted that these joint efforts will extend to scientific and social projects, benefiting both nations.

The primary objectives of these programmes include elucidating the true tenets of the Islamic faith, promoting the noble principle of moderation, and raising awareness against extremist ideologies. Such initiatives are also planned for scholars, youth, and various associations within both countries.

Minister Saeed emphasised that the scientific programmes currently underway are a direct result of his diplomatic engagements with Saudi Arabia. He expressed optimism about the future of this collaboration, indicating that numerous joint programmes are on the horizon.
