Maldives Approves Non-Resident Ambassadors to Three Countries

The People’s Majlis has approved the appointment of non-resident ambassadors to the Philippines, Spain, and New Zealand.

In today’s parliamentary session, members voted on the appointments, confirming three diplomats for the roles. Maldives Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr. Mariyam Shabeena Ahmed, was appointed as the Non-Resident Ambassador to the Philippines, with 54 members voting in favour and one opposing the decision.

Similarly, Dr. Iruthisham Adam was appointed as Maldives’ Non-Resident Ambassador to Spain, securing 54 votes in favour, while one member abstained. Meanwhile, the Maldives Ambassador to Singapore, Mohamed Luveiz, was appointed as the Non-Resident Ambassador to New Zealand, and the decision was passed unanimously with 54 votes.
