The Maldives have won the SAFF Men’s Futsal Championship 2026 with one match remaining, securing the title after defeating Bhutan on Friday evening, according to the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF).

The victory crowned the Maldives National Futsal Team as champions of the inaugural SAFF Men’s Futsal Championship, which is being held in Bangkok, Thailand. Going into the match, the Maldives required just two points to confirm the title, and the win over Bhutan placed them beyond the reach of their competitors.

The Maldives now sit top of the standings with 15 points, followed by Pakistan on 10 points. India and Nepal are level on eight points, Bangladesh have seven, while Bhutan and Sri Lanka have one point each.

The Maldivian side completed the tournament with a 100 per cent winning record, underlining their dominance throughout the competition.

The tournament is being contested in Bangkok from 14 to 26 January 2026, with the Maldives still having one fixture left to play despite already securing the championship.
