The Saudi government has officially granted permission for the Maldivian Hajj Mission to establish a dedicated clinic to serve Maldivian pilgrims during Hajj, the Maldives’ Ministry of Islamic Affairs confirms.

This marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time such a clinic has been established in partnership with a Saudi Arabian medical institution. The clinic, set up in the hotel where Maldivian pilgrims are accommodated, was developed in collaboration with Abeer Hospital in Makkah. It is fully equipped with hospital beds and medical facilities, ensuring that pilgrims have access to complete healthcare services throughout their stay.

This development follows the Maldives’ recent inclusion in the Makkah Route Initiative—an initiative that simplifies immigration procedures and significantly eases the travel experience for Maldivian pilgrims. Together, these advancements highlight the government’s commitment to delivering comprehensive and high-quality services for those undertaking this sacred journey.
