The Maldives has showcased its unique travel offerings for Chinese visitors at the Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) 2025.

The event took place from 27 to 29 June at the China International Exhibition Center (Chaoyang Venue), where the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is participating alongside six key industry partners to strengthen its presence in the Chinese travel market.

The Maldives’ exhibition stand features a variety of activities, including photo opportunities, promotional video presentations, and one-on-one meetings with travel trade professionals. The co-exhibitors—Try Maldives Holidays, Plumeria, Sun Siyam Travels, ICOM Marina Sea View, Diamonds Thudufushi Beach & Water Villas, and Courtyard Maldives—are presenting a diverse array of travel products, ranging from boutique accommodations to full-service experiences.

This participation supports MMPRC’s ongoing strategy to maintain momentum in the Chinese market and promote the Maldives as a premier long-haul and year-round destination. As of 11 June, the Maldives has welcomed 122,088 visitors from China in 2025, contributing to a total of 263,340 arrivals this year. China continues to be the top source market for the Maldives in 2024.

MMPRC’s involvement in BITE 2025 builds on a series of successful marketing campaigns in China throughout the year. These initiatives have included high-impact digital campaigns, joint promotions with major tour operators, and media familiarisation trips. Targeted efforts such as Visit Maldives Week in China and participation in regional tourism forums are ongoing to enhance the destination’s visibility and encourage further growth in Chinese arrivals.
