Maldives Immigration has launched a new public outreach programme, “Immigration Insights,” aimed at addressing common misconceptions about its services and improving accessibility for both local and foreign residents.

The initiative, introduced by Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan, forms part of a wider effort to enhance the quality of immigration services across the country.

Set to be rolled out this month, the programme will use short videos and social media posts to convey essential information in a simple and easily understandable format. It will cover frequently misunderstood topics, including the specific photo requirements for passport applications, the purpose of sponsorship declarations, and the steps for applying for dependent visas, according to Controller General of Immigration Ahmed Faseeh.

Alongside the public programme, Maldives Immigration has launched three internal campaigns for its officers to improve service delivery. These campaigns focus on customer engagement through “Serving with a Smile,” reinforcing ethical standards with “Promoting Integrity,” and emphasising respect and equality in service with “Maintaining Humanity.”
