The Maldives Fisheries and Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Corporation (MFOMPC) has launched a nationwide initiative calling on all fisheries and marine resources producers to register with the corporation.

The programme aims to establish a comprehensive national database to support efforts to strengthen the presence of Maldivian marine products in both international and domestic markets. MFOMPC, a fully government-owned corporation, is responsible for promoting fisheries products to enhance profitability and develop a more competitive market position.

As part of this initiative, the corporation intends to compile a detailed register of industry stakeholders, including fishermen, fish processors, exporters, aquaculture and mariculture operators, traders, cooperative societies, and related associations. The database will form the basis for targeted marketing and promotional activities.

Industry participants who register will join the National Fisheries Promotion Network and receive access to international branding and marketing support. Registration will also enable stakeholders to contribute to the development of a long-term vision for the fisheries sector and stay informed about upcoming projects and opportunities.

Registration is open to all individuals and entities involved in fisheries and marine product activities, with participation requiring the submission of a designated form.

MFOMPC is also working to introduce a distinct national brand under which Maldivian fisheries products will be marketed and promoted globally.
