Maldives Police Arrest Suspected Gang in String of Muggings

Maldives Police Service has disclosed that a group suspected of involvement in multiple muggings and thefts, targeting individuals for significant sums of money, was apprehended last night.
According to Police, reports were received late last night indicating that individuals attempting to mug a person were intercepted near Hiyaa Tower 1 in Hulhumale’ Phase 2.

The official stated that subsequent investigations into the incident unveiled a pattern of similar offences committed by the apprehended individuals on various occasions.
In connection to these allegations, four Maldivian men, aged 32, 36, and 45 respectively, have been taken into custody.
As inquiries continue, the police have refrained from divulging additional information at this stage.
