Maldives Police to Host Cyber Expo 2024
The Maldives Police Service is set to organise the Cyber Expo 2024, a three-day event aimed at raising awareness and fostering collaboration in the field of cybersecurity.
The expo will be held from Wednesday to Friday at Central Park in Hulhumale’.According to the Ministry of Homeland, Security, and Technology, the event aspires to create a secure digital environment while educating the public on the importance of cybersecurity. Government institutions, state-owned enterprises, private companies, and professionals are invited to participate, encouraging a unified approach to digital safety.
The expo will showcase a range of cybersecurity-related gadgets and services, offering attendees an opportunity to explore tools and technologies essential for safeguarding digital platforms. Experts in the field will also be present to provide guidance on identifying common cyberattacks and implementing preventive measures.
Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has signed on as the official banking partner for the event. In a statement, MIB emphasised the critical importance of cybersecurity as the bank continues to deliver secure digital banking services. Its mobile application and internet banking platforms are equipped with advanced security features, such as two-factor authentication and biometric unlocking, to ensure the protection of user data and safe transactions.
During the expo, MIB will operate dedicated stalls to educate visitors on secure banking practices and offer insights into its digital services.
The Cyber Expo 2024 represents a collaborative effort to address the growing challenges in cybersecurity, highlighting the collective responsibility of institutions and individuals in maintaining a secure digital ecosystem.
