Held at the SIFCO Party Hall, the opening ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Minister of Higher Education and Skills Development Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed and Maldives Polytechnic CEO Zushan Kamaluddin. During the event, the Vice President also unveiled a digital gallery comprising 200 additional photographs and received a commemorative souvenir from senior students.

The exhibition presents a visual timeline tracing the growth of vocational education since the establishment of the first training centre on 14 October 1975. It highlights memorable moments from various courses, programmes, and events conducted in Malé and the atolls, reflecting the institution’s expanding role in national skills development.

Maldives Polytechnic currently provides training for more than 500 students across 25 different courses at its campuses nationwide. The photo exhibition is part of a wider series of events marking the 50th anniversary, which includes a celebratory carnival to be held from 16 to 17 October and a special ceremony on the anniversary day.

The “Vocational Journey in Frames” exhibition is open to the public until 10:00 pm on Tuesday and will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
