Maldives Sets New Daily Tourist Arrival Record for Third Time This Month

The Maldives has recorded its highest number of tourist arrivals in a single day, marking the third time the record has been broken this month.
According to the Tourism Ministry, the first daily arrival record of the year was set on 1 February. This was surpassed on 8 February, when 10,462 tourists entered the country, exceeding the previous peak of 10,253 arrivals.
The latest record was established on Saturday, when 11,136 tourists arrived in the Maldives.
As of Saturday, total tourist arrivals for the year reached 349,990, reflecting a 7.6 per cent increase compared with the same period last year. The country has been receiving an average of 7,778 tourists per day.
China remains the leading source market, with 49,704 arrivals recorded so far this year. Russia follows with 40,141 tourists, while Italy ranks third with 34,320 arrivals.
Tourism Ministry statistics indicate that the majority of visitors stayed at resorts, while more than 94,000 tourists opted to stay in guesthouses as of Saturday.
