Maldives Welcomes Direct Flights from 22 Countries

According to recent statistics from the Ministry of Tourism, 22 countries have direct air connections to the Maldives. These flights, operated by various airlines, link the Maldives directly with key destinations across Asia and Europe.
The Ministry of Tourism highlighted that these 22 countries include some of the most popular among tourists visiting the Maldives, such as China, Russia, the U.K., Italy, India, and France.
Currently, 40 airlines are operational, supporting the growing influx of visitors seeking to explore the archipelago’s pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and luxury resorts.
In the tourism sector’s performance update, the Maldives have welcomed over 900,000 tourists this year. With a national target to attract 2 million visitors by year-end, the Maldives is expected to surpass the one millionth visitor milestone by the end of this month.
The tourism infrastructure in the Maldives continues to expand rapidly, with 174 resorts, 860 guesthouses, 150 safari vessels, and 14 hotels currently operational across the islands.
