The national carrier, Maldivian, has announced special flights for Umrah pilgrims during the upcoming peak travel period.
Maldivian commenced Umrah operations in July this year, operating the service using its wide-body aircraft to cater to pilgrim travel demand.

Under the latest offer, direct flights will operate between Male’ and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, timed to coincide with the forthcoming school holidays to make travel more convenient for pilgrims. Three outbound flights are scheduled on the Male’–Jeddah route on 27 and 28 December, while return flights are planned for 10, 11 and 12 January next year.
Maldivian has stated that the fare for the special Umrah flights is set at USD 750, which includes a baggage allowance of 45 kilogrammes per passenger.
The airline said the special services form part of its efforts to provide direct and convenient travel options for Umrah pilgrims during periods of high demand.
